A contract for construction of the City Stadium and the Children and Youth Training Centre was signed in Szczecin on 8 March 2019. Documents were initialled by the Mayor of the City and representatives of the contractor i.e. DORACO and PBG companies.

The investment shall include construction and equipping of the Children and Youth Training Centre i.e. a building along with a complex of six pitches (including three with hybrid surface and one built-up, so-called “balloon”), construction of four stands of the City Stadium and surrounding infrastructure i.e. car-parks, access roads and pavements.

“We commence works within this project with satisfaction, said Karol Zduńczyk, the President of the Management Board of DORACO Construction Corporation, a project leader. “As a general contractor, special attention is paid by us to investments which are of service to a wide range of society and which contribute to development of the region. Construction of the City Stadium and the Children and Youth Training Centre is such a task in fact – we deeply believe that those who will visit this place will experience a lot of joy and emotions both during sports events and during cultural events as well as that amongst young sports adepts learning here will be future stars of the national team.”

A partner of the project, PBG SA Group, has unique references and experience related to construction of stadiums – it has built three stadiums for Euro 2012 which today are of great use to local communities and not only to fans and athletes but they also serve as a place for organization of numerous other events. The Stadium of Pogoń will be in a similar situation.

“PBG has enormous experience in leading works at stadiums, during tournaments. That was the case, for example, at the stadium in Poznań built from scratch in practice. Therefore, fans and athletes of Pogoń may be confident of games during the investment” said Jerzy Ciechanowski, the Plenipotentiary of the Management Board of PBG SA.

Pursuant to the signed contract, the investment is to last 36 months. Works at the construction site should come to an end in the first half-year of 2022.

The investment will cost PLN 364.4 million and the stadium itself – PLN 261.2 million.
