Renovation and adaptation of a XVI century granary “New Packing” into a luxury boutique hotel in the center district of Gdańsk.
Demanding and complicated project of an old monument. The scope of work included the revitalization of the building with finishing works, installation works, stone and facade works.
“The New Packing” Granary is located in the center of Gdansk and it is a seven storey, detached, brick building, without a basement. Gable roof covered with ceramic tile parallel to the Szafarnia Street. The original structure was preserved inside, which is formed of columns, beams and girders “naked” ceilings. Elevations were left in the raw brick. The windows topped by segmental arches in the facade of eastern and western gates are allowing entry into the interior. Adjacent to the east elevation are built in the nineteenth century one storey outbuildings. The hotel has 89 beds and restaurant can host up to 223 guests. The hotel has a microbrewery serving its own beer – Brovarnia.
