Building of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics at Gdansk University of Technology
Brief Specification:
A new building of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics at Gdansk University of Technology has been designed as a 4-storey building without cellars and with a flat roof. The Y-shaped structure of the building has been divided into 4 blocks (sections): A, B, C and D. The function and the operational needs have required adopting different static schemes and individual structural solutions in each of these sections.
The building will function primarily as an educational and laboratory facility, with supplementary functions such as: administration, catering and technical services.The building will be occupied by two users: Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics at Gdansk University of Technology and the service centre of TriCity Academic Computer Network.
Finishing standard of the building:
- Curtain walls with structural glazing
- Façade made of sandstone (‘Radków’ mine)
- Floors raised in the premises of the TriCity Academic Computer Network
- Aluminium system walls in computer laboratories and server rooms
- Sanitary system cabins
- Slidable acoustic walls dividing the space of 1st Auditorium into 2 parts
- Acoustic panels of walls and ceilings in 1st Auditorium
- Movable racks and a control gate in the branch of the Main Library
- Microwave absorbers for free-field rooms in the Antenna Laboratory
- Passenger lifts without an engine room
- Building Management System (BMS) automatics, control and management of the technical and safety system
- Multimedia systems
