Integration center Gdańsk Śródmieście within the Gdańsk Forum will improve the movement…

Thanks to the construction of the Gdańsk Forum, city center will obtain a new, improved communication system. One of its key elements is the traffic junction of Gdańsk Śródmieście. The new junction will take over 18% of the existing traffic in the public transport in the area of Śródmieście. Trams will start going that way in a month. On this occasion, on September 28 this year, the Investor, with the participation of Doraco – the general contractor for the road system – and representatives of ZTM (City Transport Company), organized an on-site verification for journalists and community representatives, attended by dozens of people.

A stopover platform – built and financed by the Gdańsk Forum, will be a place in the center of the city allowing convenient changes between buses, trams and SKM trains almost in a “door-to-door” system.

The new junction will be built on a specially adapted existing overpass – thanks to the possibility of transferring traffic to two new flyovers on Armii Krajowej Avenue. Thanks to the direct connection of the junction area with the SKM Gdańsk Śródmieście stop (through a collision-free entryway to the railway platforms), the switchover time will be significantly shortened and the transfer itself will be easier.

Środmieście Junction at a glance:

•  2 new flyovers

•  8 new tram and bus platforms

•  28,000 passengers will use the junction within 24 hours

• The switchover time between a bus or tram and SKM train will be shortened by 10 minutes

• Over 120 million PLN – the amount of money invested in the communication system which will mostly become the property of the City after completion of the construction works. A part of Nowe Podwale Grodzkie street, due to its location under the Gdańsk Forum, will remain the property of the Forum, but it will be a public road.

Doraco and Rosehill Rail at TRAKO Fair

Several hundred people visited the DORACO and Rosehill Rail booths a few days ago at the 12th International Railway Fair TRAKO 2017, the largest and most prestigious rail industry meeting in Poland, and the second largest in Europe.

Rosehill Rail, forming a part of the Rosehill Polymers Group, is a brand whose sole representative in Poland is DORACO. It mainly offers rail-road transit, known on the railway market for almost 20 years. The visitors of the TRAKO booth had the opportunity to get acquainted with the flagship products of Rosehill Rail, among others: the Connect system for heavy vehicular traffic, the Baseplated system, ideal for use in contact areas of railway tracks with pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as specialized Anti-Trespass panels to prevent trespassing on unauthorized sites, and assembly equipment and tools.

Visitors to the stand were mostly interested in the transit systems and ANTI-TRESPASS protection system. Baseplated and Connect traffic systems have attracted attention as a new product, competitive for the already existing solutions on the Polish market. What makes them stand out is their exceptional durability and method of installation, requiring no specialized equipment and allowing disassembly of the individual boards even when in motion. On the other hand, the ANTI-TRESPASS system has attracted visitors as a complete novelty on our market.

The International Railway Fair TRAKO was held at the Amber Expo Conference and Exhibition Center in Gdańsk on 26-29 September 2017. The fair is a meeting place for the companies from the railway and tram sectors: organizers and carriers, technology providers, manufacturers, distributors, representatives of state and local government authorities, experts, engineers, investors and rail enthusiasts. It is also a place for discussion, exchange of experiences and an exploration of innovative solutions for infrastructure, transport management and rolling stock technology.

Charity of Doraco – Dragon Boats Race

Last Saturday on the 9th of September, on the waters of the Motława River, charity regatta of Dragon Boats took place. 8 teams consisting of representatives of Tricity companies, including DORACO, raced in two-ton vessels in 16-person groups. All of this happened for the students of J. Korczak Children’s Home in Gdańsk, to which the funds collected during the event will be donated.

DORACO Team, composed of employees from different divisions and of different ages (the youngest competitor was 23 years old and the oldest 76), covered the distance from the bridge at the Green Gate to the Crane three times, finishing 6th. But in the end, it was not the placing, but fun and, above all, helping the children that counted the most.

– The atmosphere was amazing, it looked as if professionals were racing. I think it is a great start to a series of such competitions. The number of people who want to help others is enormous, you just have to give them a clue on how to do it. I am truly impressed by the competing teams. Synchronizing the movements of 20 people is really a difficult task – said Janusz Zdzitowiecki, President of Rotary Gdańsk Center, the initiator of the event.

Feel invited to watch photo report from the event below.
