Opening of SEZAM store at Centrum Marszałkowska

On June 6th, the Centrum Marszałkowska building saw the opening of the old Sezam store in its new release. The event was accompanied by the inauguration of the commercial and service part of the building, as well as the unveiling of a plaque commemorating Witold Rowicki, designed by a renowned graphic artist Andrzej Pągowski. The public space around the building is also undergoing advanced works – soon the revitalization of the passage named after the first post-IIWW director of the National Philharmonic, distinguished in cultural service, will be completed.

Centrum Marszałkowska is a unique project on the investment map of Warsaw carried out by WSS Społem Śródmieście and BBI Development S.A. – it is the first building to be integrated into a subway station. The general contractor of the building was DORACO Construction Corporation.

The Centrum Marszałkowska project was a huge challenge in terms of engineering. The building was erected in a very short time (24 months) on a small plot of land in the city centre, next to
a functioning subway. On the plot there were also foundations and remains of pre-war buildings, which additionally raised the bar for our specialists. It is worth mentioning that for the first time in Poland, during the construction project, the thermomonitoring method was used to detect leaks in the deep excavation casing (in cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology).
